The redevelopment of Clay Cross Town Centre by GMI, represents a challenging regeneration project of a former mining area. In conjunction with East Midlands Development Agency, English Partnerships and North East Derbyshire District Council, GMI are reclaiming contaminated and under utilised land to create a mixed use scheme incorporating retail, residential and amenity facilities.
This project will provide a catalyst for the renaissance of this fading town which has been badly scarred by the demise of its indigenous industries. |

Land assembly is taking place via a Compulsory Purchase process, which is being undertaken in partnership with the Local Authority and other public sector partners. Upon completion of the land assembly, GMI will undertake significant reclamation and infrastructure works to enable construction to follow. Public Funding of circa £9million has been secured by GMI, to contribute towards the regeneration of this strategic scheme.
