We offer to selected clients the provision of services which form part of the development process to enhance the client’s own expertise.
We have the in-house skills not only of experienced Chartered Surveyors, but also a specialist Planning and Highway Solicitor and a Chartered Management Accountant with a longstanding property background. We are therefore able to offer a comprehensive Development Co-ordination service for selected clients.
GMI Project Management has unrivalled experience in the area of Development Co-ordination and offers an impressive range of planning and development skills. As part of a property development group in its own right, the organisation has direct experience of the challenges of property development and its track record of successful delivery pays testimony to its ability. We are an independent, innovative company which has developed a strong reputation in the field of town centre regeneration not only for conventional building delivery but also for adding significant value in the areas of sustainability, community consultation and engagement, public art and local initiatives.
The role of Development Co-ordinator is pivotal to attaining a successful project outcome, particularly with complex regeneration schemes. The co-ordination of a practicable scheme relies heavily upon the ability of this discipline to harmonise the Developer’s professional team to develop a robust design capable of achieving a planning permission and one which is suitable for an occupier’s needs, to understand and interpret the objectives of stakeholders and physically to oversee the construction process to mitigate adverse impact where possible.
The Development Co-ordinator is the key contact for all stakeholders throughout the development process and should be capable of coherently promoting the combined ambition for the scheme. It is our experience that increasingly, public sector partners and occupiers alike are demanding a significantly enhanced level of project co-ordination with intense scrutiny of all stages of development – from pre-construction/planning, through construction and beyond, to operational effectiveness.
There is no doubt that regeneration schemes are increasingly needing a more comprehensive and all embracing approach with an ever escalating emphasis on community engagement and integration of the scheme into the fabric of the geographical area.
We have a reputation for having a creative but cost effective response to community consultation and engagement, which we tailor to the requirements of each scheme. We have a wide range of contacts in the arts, education and skills training and try to make linkages locally wherever we can.
The planning process is open to public scrutiny at all times and central control must be maintained on every document that enters the public domain. We do not usually engage external lobbyists and always work very closely with PR professionals in drafting releases or consultation documents because of planning considerations.
Quite aside from our technical and commercial expertise, there are specialist elements of project planning and delivery which comprise skills and a personal commitment which result in key stakeholders with whom we work being happy to provide recommendations for our approach and outcomes.
